David Cook IS the American Idol....

ok, so my prediction was wrong. David Cook is the American Idol. Not complaining about that! America may have a clue about talent...atleast for this season. Way to go David Cook!

American Idol winner.....

My prediction…
David A wins based on popular vote but David Cook is the true A.I. because he has what it takes to last longer in the business. Cook can make the albums that will make more money and get more airplay....and are just better sounding.

Two categories for American Idol….the true stars like Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson – David Cook falls in that category. Then there are the wannabe’s like Fantasia, Taylor Hicks, Ruben Studdard and the many more that got their fame from A.I. but no longer have record deals or any valid music to their name….David Archuleta falls hard into that category.

So, I would be happy to be wrong about this. But, as America has proved before, they have no idea how to pick a true winner. Good luck to you David Cook!

David Cook wins the night....

With his performance of Switchfoot's Dare You To Move and Aerosmith's I Dont Want To Miss A Thing, David Cook cleared up any doubt that he is the next American Idol. Good bye Syesha and Archuleta, really -there is no need for either of you to come back. David completed the job tonight.

Way to go David....in the words of Simon 'you won the night!'

daivd cook does switchfoot....

My American Idol pick David Cook picked Switchfoot's Dare You To Move for his contestant's pick on tonight's episode.

While a little pitchy….he left the judges wanting more. The 90 second arrangement didn’t boast the energy of the song nor the styling’s of Cook but it did, in some strange fashion, prove that even in midst of not being the perfect performance David Cook is the best!

daddy day....

Tuesdays are my day off. [breathe in, breathe out…that feels good] Although I have been known to do some ‘work from home’ on my day off I do find time to just vegetate. In fact I am often pretty lethargic on Tuesdays. Teresa is gracious and allows me to move at a snail’s pace as I try to get stuff down around the house but I have always made time to hang with kids. Tuesdays are daddy days (it use to be Mondays when we lived in Wheaton).

There are only a few things that are better than when one of my daughters –or all of them- make their way for me when I sit down and snuggle up against me. That happened this morning. Everyone was out of the house but for me and my youngest daughter. I turned the TV. on and found Curious George on PBS and sat down on the sofa with her. She made her way over and nestled her head under my arm against my side and stretched her legs out along mine. For me, it is an amazing feeling for this little person to so her affection and try to be like me. Then God said in his sweet soft voice ‘I love it when you do this to me too Bill.’

In just a few weeks my youngest will be heading off in the mornings to kindergarten. It’s coming down to my last few days of cuddling on the sofa in front of Curious George on daddy day with her. But, as with my other two daughters, she will always be welcome to cuddle with me any time we can find. And so as I was thinking about my youngest growing up to fast God showed up in my thoughts and reminded me that I am always welcome to come and cuddle up with him- no matter how old I get or what gets in the way.

It’s amazing to think that I can cuddle up with the Creator of this Universe. Through prayer, time in the Bible or worship and just quiet time alone with Him. As much as that is a comfort for me, to realize how much that brings my Heavenly Father joy is life changing. I want everyday to be daddy day.

you ask why......

We are knee deep in the interview process for our Associate Technical Director. One of questions that I ask in the interview is “Why do you want to do this?” I will usually do my best to go deeper and really try to hear their heart about why they want to be a Technical Director in the church. We have had some answers spot on and other answers that didn’t really do it for me.

Here is a great post from Anthony Coppedge on ‘why’ . He nailed it. Thanks Anthony!

facelinked.......

Yes, I have jumped in to the world of wide wonderful world of social networking. I am now on Facebook and LinkedIn. Yey for me….yey for you!

Give me a few to get the profiles up and going – it’s hard enough for me to update the blog much less these two new things. In the meantime, link me or be friend me.

Oh, by the way...I am still debating about the whole Twitter thing.

adobe creative….

Adobe offers their software for free trial downloads. I recently found this all out by going to pick up the latest version of Photoshop. Since, I have taught myself Flash and about to dive into After Effects – all before we go out and buy it. Pretty cool, huh. Go get creative…..
